Content Description

Eight architectural development plans for the World Science Center also known as World Science Tower and Colorado Space Tower in Larkspur, produced in 2000-2001 by MSE-ngineers, inc. The plans for the World Science Center included a 200 acre complex, amusement park, hotel/motel facilities, convention center, television station transmitter, 40-story office building, and multi level observation tower and café. Plans for the Colorado Space Tower indicate in would have stood over 1,500 feet tall. The schematics are dated 2000 and 2001 but a hand written note on one of the drawings reads "Reject 1/6/65." The project have been proposed in the 1960s. Bryant Baker was the developer. Proposed in 1964, it would have been one of the tallest buildings in the world. According to Mike Summers, the plans were scrapped because the project was cost-prohibitive.

MS Engineers was located at 11031 S. Pikes Peak Drive in Parker, Colo. It was founded by James "Mike" Summers. In 2021, Mr. Summers was retired but living in the Pinery. The engineering firm that MS Engineers became AES Group Inc. took a message on July 23, 2021 and said they would pass it on to Mr. Summers. - JG
