Content Description
Typewritten manuscript articles by Joanne Sinclaire and an unknown author, including one titled "Dairying Proves to be Most Profitable Industry." The unknown author of the article listed the local creameries along with facts and figures as of July 1, 1921 that demonstrated the importance of the dairy industry to Douglas County. The later article about cattle ranching is signed by Sinclaire and exists in several versions or states of revision, with manuscript additions and corrections to the typescript. The article relates the early history of the county, the growth of the ranches, and the development of the cattle industry. Sinclaire was a member of the DCHS and also a rancher active in the Douglas County Cattlemen's Association.
