Content Description

Research report "June 1965 Colorado Flooding: Number and Location of Deaths" by Wayne Graham investigating accounts of actual confirmed deaths in Colorado due to the 1965 flood. The author looked into various, conflicting claims about the total number of fatalities which have been repeated in the press over the decades since 1965 and concluded that there were 24 deaths statewide, only two of which occurred on the South Platte River (and only one in Douglas County). The report provides a full list of victims, including name, location and cause of death, and the source of information.
