Content Description
The Elizabeth Gilbert Saunders collection includes biographical information about Bette Saunders (née Sylvia Elizabeth Gilbert) and her family, as well as other early Douglas County residents, through historic school documents. The bulk of the material is in the form of commencement and graduation programs dated from 1899-1967; as well as diplomas, certificates, a class list from 1934, a class night program from 1914, a poem by Naomi Butler from 1916, a memorial service program for President Harding in 1923, high school play programs from 1930-1935, sewing samples, news clippings, and a number of photographs of student classes and school buildings. Also included is a manuscript document by Bette Saunders listing her "Colorado Ancestry" and genealogical information up to the date of 1993.
