Perry Park visual materials collection, 1967-1977
Scope and Content
This collection consists of original photographic prints, slides, transparencies, half-tone prints, and negatives created by A. L Schafer, a freelance photographer working for the Colorado Western Development Company during the construction of the Perry Park subdivision. The majority of the images document the development of Perry Park, beginning in the late 1960s: road construction, water and sanitation installation, housing construction, building the Echo Hills Club, scenery and geology of the area, golfing, community events, and gatherings of Perry Park residents. Many of the materials in the collection were used in the production of the Panorama newsletter, a publication for residents of Perry Park. Many of the photos are of early Perry Park residents, staff and other people associated with the area in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Many of the houses are identified by their original owner’s names.
